Student leader got arrested under anti terror law for giving a speech against Citizenship law
Umar Khalid who is the student leader has been arrested for a speech given by him during the protest which took place in New Delhi against the Citizenship law. He was arrested on Sunday under anti-terror law stating connection with the riots which took place in New Delhi.
Nadeem khan from united Against hate said that Khalid has been framed and held responsible for the Delhi riots. Police had filed cases against all the people who are said to have given Provoking speech and for provoking the Anti-CAA protestors. A total number of 700 FIRs have been filed.
Lawyer Prashant Bhushan said that the activist who was peacefully protesting were framed for investigation. Khalid’s father said that his son was charged with many charges and made Khalid the main accused. A report published by Amnesty International Indian stated the Complicity and bias of Delhi police.
The police have further cleared it and defended that 1575 people have been charged sheeted so far. Along with this the police further said that out if 1575 persons 571 Hindus and 582 Muslims are charge-sheeted.

Khalid’s father said that his son was charged with sedition charges. Kavita Krishnan shared a tweet on twitter and stated that Khalid has been arrested and the police were lying about not arresting activists based on disclosure statements. The police said that such accusations that were being stated against the police were all motivated.
